SAYA was founded and is led jointly by Karen Lee Bar-Sinai and Yehuda Greenfield-Gilat.

Karen Lee Bar-Sinai

Karen Lee Bar-Sinai is a licensed architect and designer, a co-founder and Design Director at SAYA/Design for Change. She holds an MSc in “Cities, Space and Society” from the London School of Economics, and has trained as an architect in the Technion – the Israeli Institute of Technology. She specializes in “Resolution Planning”- the use of architectural and design tools in aid of conflict resolution processes. Her work has been widely presented and used by leading decision makers and state officials. Karen Lee is a recipient of the prestigious British Chevening award and the America-Israel Cultural Foundation (AICF) award for promising young artists. She was also selected as a Leob Fellow at Harvard’s Graduate School of Design during the 2012/2013 academic year.

Yehuda Greenfield-Gilat

Yehuda Greenfield-Gilat is a licensed architect, a co-founder of SAYA/Design for Change and its Planning and Development Director. He is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government (Masters in Public Policy) and holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Technion- Israel Institute of Technology. He specializes in the connection between planning, conflict resolution and political economy. His work has been widely presented and used by leading decision makers and state officials. Yehuda is the recipient of the David Fischman award-for outstanding academic achievements, as well as an S.Daniel Abraham award for Graduate Studies.

Chen Farkas

Chen Farkas is and architect and project manager and has been with SAYA since 2007. She is in charge of research, planning, design and production, and has headed various Israeli-Palestinian professional teams and workshops. She holds a B.Arch in Architecture from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem.

Harel Shcreiber

Harel Shcreiber is an independent graphic designer who has been consulting SAYA since 2008 in various projects, and has been part of project teams since. He holds a Bachelor degree in Visual Communications from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem. Harel assists SAYA with sharpening graphic concepts and messages, in the design of selected images and in tuning our designs for different crowds and formats.
